RARE, 1948: Footlose in the Congo, by Roger Courtney

Rare first edition of Roger Courtney’s Footloose in the Congo, published by Herbert Jenkins Limited in London in 1948. 222 pages.

The volume itself is not dated, but has an inscription on blank title page, that reads “To Leslie, 1953.”

This is a very scarce account of the life of the author during a locust campaign as Chief Field Officer for an area in East Africa.

Blue cloth hardcover with impressed lettering on spine, with moderate signs of fading and wear. Minor signs of yellowing and aging on the pages. There is a faded stamp on inside of back cover “25 April 1953”.

There is a brief signature on front endpage, dated 1953.

Aside from the faded cover, the book is in a very good condition.

The book might benefit from being rebound.
